Prior to this past Monday night, I had sent a letter to my pastor concerning Todd Bentley.I knew little about Bentley until I did some researching on him. I did this before I knew that he was having another pastor friend in who went to Lakeland after watching this revival (???) 50 days on tv. I do not have television with cable or satellite so I have not watched the outpouring as it is called. To make a long story shorter pastor completely avoided me Sunday and when he announced about Monday night Todd Bentley's name was not mentioned. This is deceit. On Monday night, I sat way in the back to observe people. I wish I could not have had the angry face on me. The speaker also made the same comment as pastor did "It is not about the man, but about the revival" and his name was not mentioned. Deceit again. I have been in pentecostal church for 25 years and what I saw was wrong, wrong, wrong. The speaker brought his own worship team and the music went on for well over an hour with just 4 chords being planned. This is trance producing music. I heard some noises that were very questionable. One song mentioned winds of change.
The speaker would hit himself on the back as if he was swatting a fly.I noticed and my small church was well packed, that most people were worshipping. I just sat there and an elderly retired pastor (been a pastor for over 60 years) was praying the whole time and did not take part in the worship. The speaker did some prophesying. My pastor just laid there and had no control ...He was hugging the altar.. When there was a call from the speaker for everyone to come up and have hands laid on them, I left. Later I found out several others had including the retired pastor. I am still upset in the way my church is going. In my letter to my pastor,I stated "The AOG must approach this man with caution" and I closed it with this "I will state that if not a wave from God much tranference is being taken into churches and people are being greatly deceived and accepting spirits that are out to destroy the works of God and His Bride". I witnessed this first hand Monday night.
