I just finished reading Todd Bentleys, three part series Angelic Hosts. It is seriously one of the most disturbing and dangerous things I have ever read. It seems that the more I prayerfully look into Todd Bentley the deeper I am led into his dark world of Gnosticism, mysticism, and the occult. My prayer for you is that you will honestly examine the things he teaches and the manifestations present in his ministry in the light of scripture.
In Todd Bentley’s Article Angelic Hosts Bentley issues the invitation to eat from the Tree of Life. “I see angels bringing some of you to the tree of life. Remember how God, in Genesis 3:24, sent the cherubim to guard the way to the tree of life because man had sinned. God took Adam and Eve out of the garden. But today the Lord wants to bring some of us into that place where we taste the fruit of the tree of life. I want you to get involved right now and say:
Father, please give us that fruit. Lord let those angels bring us right into the place where you have prepared a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Give us the divine life that comes from that tree so we can taste and see that the Lord is good. Angelic Hosts, Todd Bentley. Fresh Fire Ministries
Now let’s compare this with GOD’s word.
Genesis 2:15-17 (NKJV)
Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 3
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
So we see in scripture that God has placed an Angel at the east of garden to guard against ANYONE eating of this tree lest they should live forever.
Bentley seems to be a frequent guest of Patricia King's "Extreme Prophetic” Televsion show. On one of these occasions he described a face to face encounter with Jesus. Not a vision- no- he claims he had a face to face encounter! Jesus steps out of heaven and comes to Todd as a man- interesting. Does Todd fall on his face and worship Jesus? Now if you recall, at the beginning of the Florida Outpouring, Todd claimed that God had requested that he lay hands on everyone present for ten nights of special transfer- (I mean impartation). If you look very deeply into Todd Bentley, you will find he has a fondness for the number ten. Is there any significance to the number ten? Ask anyone with knowledgeable of the occult. and they will tell you. Let’s go deeper.
Just as the tree of life has significance to the Christian through what it signifies in the book of Genesis, so too does it have significance to mystics and occultists. Manly P. Hall, in, The Secret Teachings of All Ages, writes, “…the Tree of Life is the appointed symbol of the Mysteries and by partaking of its fruit man attains immortality.”
Nevill Drury, in his Dictionary of Mysticism and the Occult, claims that “The occult Tree of Life is a path in which the initiate—the occult student—discovers and experiences the “inner light” (also called the “inner Christ”). It is a system of spiritual doctrines which opens up the mind and the soul to a new level of understanding—“salvation comes from within.”
Below is a picture of the cultic or Kabalic Tree of Life. Let’s look at what it symbolizes
TheTree of Life is an arrangement of ten interconnected circles or spheres (called sephiroth) which represent the central organizational system of the Jewish Kabalistic tradition. (Kabala is a mystical interpretation of the Torah (Hebrew Bible), and claims insight into divine nature.)
According to Wikipedia, each sephirah (circle or sphere) is considered to be an emanation of the divine energy (often described as 'the divine light') which ever flows from the unmanifest, through Kether( Kether is the top circle or sphere) into manifestation. This flow of light is indicated by the lightning flash (see illustration) which passes through each sephirah in turn according to their enumerations.
So we see that each circle or (sephirah) is a center of divine energy and each has a number of attributes. The path between them is called the lightening path.The lightning flash of the Tree of Life is a flash that zigzags down from Kether (the crown) through the ten spheres to Malkuth (the kingdom). This is what occultist’s mystics, Gnostics and kabbalists refer to when they refer to the tree of life.
Now let’s look at Kundalini and then we will begin to tie some things together. Kundalini is an ancient occult practice with its roots in India. It involves bodily manifestations as a consequence to the ‘Awakening of an individual's Kundalini’, and is related to several other occultist practices. You don’t have to deviate too far to notice the express relationship between Kundalini, Chakras, the Tree of Life/Kabbalah and higher occultist practices
Listen to how the website biologyofkundalini.com describes this Kundalini power. While Kundalini is active we ignite (ignite is also incidentally the name of the church where the Florida Healing Revival was touched off) those around us simply with our presence with a power that works directly from body to body, heart to heart--like a contagion.
Now keep in mind that Todd wad instructed to lay hands on everyone present in his meetings for ten nights of special impartation. He described this transferable “anointing” as the most contagious he had ever experienced.
The following excerpt was taken from newchristian.org.uk: and is referring to a gentleman's uneasy feeling toward Bentley.
"The one other very worrying statement I heard him make that evening was this: "I used to feel the anointing in my hand; now I feel it in my spine." His mention of the spine rang bells in my memory, so I did a search on Google and found that the KUNDALINI (demonic) snake/serpent spirit is acknowledged by KUNDALINI devotees as taking up residence in the spine. Given that the main emphasis of Todd's ministry at Lakeland is the impartation of "the fire" to other countries, churches and ministries around the world, makes this "impartation" aspect one of great concern, lest another spirit is involved."
Now let’s look at the following common manifestations of the risen Kundalini in occult practices.
- Muscle twitches, cramps or spasms.
- Energy rushes or immense electricity circulating the body
- Itching, vibrating, prickling, tingling, stinging or crawling sensations
- Intense heat or cold
- Involuntary bodily movements, jerking, tremors, shaking; feeling an inner force pushing one into postures or moving one's body in unusual ways.
- Alterations in eating and sleeping patterns
- Episodes of extreme hyperactivity or, conversely, overwhelming fatigue
- Intensified or diminished sexual desires
- Headaches, pressures within the skull
- Racing heartbeat, pains in the chest
- Digestive system problems
- Numbness or pain in the limbs (particularly the left foot and leg)
- Pains and blockages anywhere; often in the back and neck
- Emotional outbursts; rapid mood shifts; seemingly unprovoked or excessive episodes of grief, fear, rage, depression
- Spontaneous vocalizations (including laughing and weeping) -- are as unintentional and uncontrollable as hiccoughs
- Hearing an inner sound or sounds, classically described as a flute, drum, waterfall, birds singing, bees buzzing but which may also sound like roaring, whooshing, or thunderous noises or like ringing in the ears.
- Mental confusion; difficulty concentrating
- Altered states of consciousness: heightened awareness; spontaneous trance states; mystical experiences (if the individual's prior belief system is too threatened by these, they can lead to bouts of psychosis or self-grandiosity)
- Heat, strange activity, and/or blissful sensations in the head, particularly in the crown area.
Now let us compare it to some of the common symptoms as related on the website newchristian.org.uk

- They come back with this kind of childlike drunken stupor.
- Descriptions of a burning sensation either in their veins, heads or stomachs.

- Dancing about like drunk...
- Inappropriate yelling and screaming like they're at a football game;
- Young men whistling over and over and holding their heads and claiming that they "feel the Holy Spirit about to split them in two";
- One young man's back two teeth turned completely too some metalic finish
- People with their eyes rolled in the back of their heads and weaving around like they're lost.
- Women just gyrating and pulsating like they're being ravaged from behind from some unseen force.
- Drunken uncontrollable laughter in the middle of a solemn prayer time.
- People being "slain in the spirit"... just falling down and being unable to move (like something's holding them down)..."
According to the website “enlightened beings” the most important thing to know and remain aware of, is that a Kundalini Awakening contains the most unbelievable expanded states of reality, enlightenment, and absolute ecstasy. Not to mention that you've just befriended the greatest healing energy available inside you and extremely contagious to all human beings.
Wow- this occultist website is describing the Kundalini awakening as the greatest healing energy available AND extremely contagious. Sound familiar?
This website goes on to explain that a Kundalini awakening can be an experience that feels like the greatest blessing in the entire world, or the worst curse you have ever encountered. It simply depends on one thing. Whether you know that you are an infinite soul that will never die, OR you still believe you are this physical non-spiritual mortal body. Your perspective is everything when it comes to a million watts of energy pouring through you. The bigger and more inclusive your perspective is on each experience, the easier it will be for your body mind to accept the Kundalini.
So in essence they are saying that we have to KNOW that we are an infinite soul who will never die to make it easy for the mind body to accept the Kundalini. How can we know this? By partaking of the tree of life of course. Remember Todd’s words?

So why does Todd Bentley insist on laying hands on everyone present in his meetings even when they number in the thousands (which by the way would exhaust the very strongest among us)? Because he needs to lay hands on to transfer the power or energy. This power or energy in the occult is called the shakipat. “Shakti”means power or energy, and “pat” means transfer. Kundalini awakening or (shaktipat) is the infusion of energy from the spiritual master to the seeker, bringing about the awakening of the seeker’s own inherent spiritual power, called “Kundalini.”
According to inplainsite.com “Few Christians realize that for thousands of years gurus have operated with gifts of healing, miracles, gifts of knowledge, and intense displays of spiritual consciousness as they stretch out and connect with a cosmic power which, though demonic in origin, is very real. The meetings which mystic Hindu gurus hold are called 'Darshan'. At these meetings devotees go forward to receive spiritual experience from a touch by the open palm of the hand, often to the forehead, by the guru in what is known as the Shakti Pat or divine touch. The raising of the spiritual experience is called raising Kundalini……
After a period when the devotee has reached a certain spiritual elevation they begin to shake, jerk, or hop or squirm uncontrollably, sometimes breaking into uncontrolled animal noises or laughter as they reach an ecstatic high. The following is an account of what took place in one professor’s life when an assistant to Swami Muktanada ran a peacock feather across the “third eye” in the center of his forehead.
“I saw a bolt of lightning, like a pyramid of light. I began literally bouncing off the floor and trembling. I cried. I felt tremendous energy, love, and joy. What I had experienced, I later learned, had been ‘shaktipat or spiritual awakening of Kundalini energy inside me...” [Professor Michael Ray, Stanford Graduate School of Business]
In the occult or kabbalist tradition Samael or Samuel is an angel and is also referred to as the Peacock Angel (thus the peacock feather) or the Angel of Death. The third eye according to Wikipedia is the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. In New Age spirituality, the third eye may alternately symbolize a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply-personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with visions, clairvoyance, precognition, and out-of-body experiences, and people who have allegedly developed the capacity to use their third eyes are sometimes known as seers. It is sometimes symbolized by a flaming eye. Interesting enough Bentley has a large flaming eye tattooed on his left arm. A tattoo by the way that he got about a year ago, well after his “conversion”.
Now I want to show you something that was taken from Todd Bentleys Angelic Hosts article and written in his own words.
"These throne-room realities began to be revealed to me in the meeting in Iowa as I gave thanks to God for the angelic beings. I made a conscious effort to remember that angels are in the spirit realm (why did he have to make a conscious effort to remember that they were in the spirit realm- people who encountered Angels in scripture certainly never had to remind themselves they were in the presence of angels- they were terrified) As soon as I did that, throughout the service people were caught up into prophetic experiences. People in the service either saw a vision, heard heaven or smelt, touched, felt or had some kind of supernatural experience. Many people literally began to see the same open-eyed vision while others began to have different visions. It didn't matter whether the lights were on or off or whether people's eyes were open or closed."
Bentley goes on to say that "Even unsaved people in the meeting who were into Transcendental Meditation began to see the lightning's of God manifest in the physical realm. They saw lightning bolts zip across the room for two and a half hours. (Did these unsaved people fall on their faces and worship God? If they did Todd never tells us about it). The congregation began to freak out. This prophetic download went on until 11:30 that night. It was the kind of thing you read about in the old Maria Woodworth-Etter meetings. (Maria Woodworth-Etter is possibly the source for many of the aberrant doctrines taken up by the New Order of the Latter Rain in the late1940's)Children coming into the service began to see angels. People began to scream out, "I'm in a trance and Jesus is coming to me" or others, all at the same time, would shout, "We are in a garden." (hmmm..what Garden would that be?)Then I would see a lightening bolt and shout out, "Did you see it?" In response, many others would yell, "I saw it!" The lightnings of God were manifesting. The meeting became pandemonium for two and a half hours. Then the Lord spoke to me about the thunder and lightning which proceed from the throne. I said, "Do you know where we are right now guys? We are in the throne room."
Bentley then states that “In retrospect, I realize that the only thing to get us into the throne room was my conscious decision to think about what it looked like in the heavenlies at that moment in the service. I had also begun to acknowledge the angelic realm. (Did you catch Todd states that the only thing that got them into this throne room to and to experience this lightening was his conscious decision. He just thought about it and they were there). So it appears that there is something about the angelic host that brings spiritual experiences. Are you ready for these types of experiences today?!" (Umm… no)
Now let’s take a look at the Angel Samuel or Samael as it relates to Todd Bentleys “ministry”. The following was taken from a book of the occult entitled, The Great Encyclopedia of Angels: The Truth about Angels, by Aryella Jupiter.
Samael is The Angel of Death as known in Jewish lore, and The Peacock Angel (Tavas Malakh). He is the sovereign of the 6th Heaven and the Underworld. Samael seems to have a very ambiguous role, where on one side he is known to be the brightest light of all heavens, and on other side he is responsible to oversee the punishment of the iniquitous and the Underworld. He is the one who inspire and empowers the secret societies, especially Illuminati. He is 6'6" tall with long straight white hair two inches below shoulders (formerly golden blond,) baby blue eyes and gorgeous features.
Now remember that, this angel has blonde hair, blue eyes, shoulder length blonde hair and is gorgeous. Now lets look at Bentleys description of one of the angels that visit him (taken from Bentley’s article, Angelic Hosts) I had another angel come to me looking like he was about 6' 4" tall with 24" biceps. He was cut with rippling muscles and wore a golden sash about his waist. He had blond, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes-the hunk of hunks. We are talking better than Fabio, OK.
Wikipedia describes Samael as follows: Samael (also Samael) is an important archangel in Talmudic and post-Talmudic lore, as well as Christian tradition and demonology. He is viewed as the evil Angel of Death. He is a prince of demons and a magician. He was a guardian angel of Esau and a patron of the sinful empire of Rome. Samael is sometimes considered to be the true angelic name of Satan. The etymology of his name is sometimes thought to be a combination of 'Sam', meaning "poison/venom", and 'el', meaning "of God"; thus he is the "poison of God".
Now let us view this knowledge in light of the following statement Todd makes in Angelic Hosts. “Recently, I had an angel come to me in Kansas City. He said, "Todd, my name is Promise, and I've come to bring the fulfillment of God's promises. I've come to bring the fulfillment of the prophetic words spoken to intercessors. I have come for those who have been like Hannah-they have prayed, waited and carried a promise in their hearts. There will come a time when God has heard and I will release the Samuel,"
According to Satanic theology it was Azazel, also known as Samael ("Venomous God"), who tempted Adam and Eve with the Fruit of Knowledge in the form of a serpent. He was also the one who inspired the people of Babel to make the technological feat of building their Tower. It was by teaching these various forbidden arts and by inspiring humanity to “reach for the stars” and take control of their environments that Azazel had fallen out of favor with the Abrahamic deity (God).
So in light of all of this I ask you the following. Do you really want to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Life this side of heaven? Do you want to experience the “fire” of this impartation with all its manifestations? Do you really want to have dealings with Todd’s angels? It is amazing to me that people will cling to the argument that if people are being healed it must be God. Kundalini is cultic but is said be one of the greatest healing forces. Remember the magicians in Moses day were able to replicate most of the miracles Moses performed. People again and again say -"but look at the fruit- fruit is fruit right"? I refuse to eat the fruit of a poisonous plant no matter how "hungry” I am.
Jerimiah 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

2Cr 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness
Carl Teichrib , a researcher on world religions sums it up beautifully, “The bottom line is this: the quest for the mystical Tree of Life is simply the desire to take the Garden of Eden by force, tear down whatever barriers stand in the way of its fruit, and by man’s own hand taste immortality. The result will be catastrophic for the individual who, through the occult and the works of magic, attempts to gain “everlasting life” outside of God’s prescribed way—“the way and the truth and the life”—Jesus Christ.

I might also add that Bentley reveres dozens of antichrists such as william branham who said the Trinity was a doctrine of demons. Denial of the Trinity alone as far as the Bible is concerned with me is putting you in a place OUTSIDE the doctrines of Christ, which puts you OUTSIDE of God, which will put you in HELL for all eternity. Bentley says the same spirit called Emma who followed Branham around is now following him around. All the thousands of other doctrines of devils he adds onto this one are just coals on his head in the fires if he doesnt repent.

In stark contrast to the warnings of Jesus in Matt 24:23-26, Bentley also claims
that Jesus Himself came down tangibly from heaven opened Todds door and sat on Bentley's bed. He claims his bed even went "creek" as Jesus sat down on it. "thats how tangible it was, in the natural". Bentley then claims Jesus touched his face and while Jesus was touching bentley's face, Bentley smelled Jesus and Bentley says Jesus "smelled like Vanilla". (See source below)
In the same footage Bentley claims Jesus Himself said these exact words to Bentley ""you are pure in heart, there is nothing in your heart that is not pure, you totally love me".

Do you not realize that one of the signs of the coming of the end of the age is FALSE SIGNS AND WONDERS?? However, a man that talks with angels and has had more visitation than even the Biblical Patriarchs you have to question. When a man is talking to a female angel named Emma when there are NO FEMALE angels in the bible one has to wonder if he is really conversing with EMMA-O which is another name for Satan. If the signs and wonders alone are what you are judging this man by then you are in serious trouble and have opened yourself for the deception.

Even the Great John who incessantly called for repentance and prepared the way for Jesus, once fell a victim to suspicion even though he personally observed the Holy Spirit descend upon Jesus when baptized, which was manifested in the form of a dove flying off Jesus. His suspicion grew when he was incarcerated for a long time except despair and just numbered times for his execution and asked his disciples to ask Jesus "whether you are the Messiah as said in the Old Test." I said "even the Great John", who was highly praided by Jesus and regarded as the greatest man from a perspective of the seat of Lamb (heaven), not as from flesh vantage point, committed a mistake in discerning Jesus as true savior for all sinners. Then how you guys can claim your discernment is more discerning and clairvoyant than that of the Great John ?
This site is full of nonsense and accusations with no traces of soul searching and sincerity with which to look into things happening around us. You guys speak of the Bible but you do not discern yourselves. It is such a pity that we ourselves are deceived by satanic pawns, not satan himself. And likewise, to those who think that not believing in the Lakeland and other events is "critical" and "blasphemes, calling someone who does not yet believe “ close minded” and questioning their relationship with God and even their Christianity is ridiculous as well. Where’s the love? What I see is hate and division. So, what’s really happening here? “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

The purpose for providing the information on this site is so Christians who are clearly seeking an answer will have some information by which to make their decision. We do not hate Todd Bentley or any of his ardent admirers. I hate the deception but I do not hate the vessel through which deception comes. I think that most of these people that are attending the meetings are sincere folks who genuinely want a touch from God. However Todd Bentley's doctrine is anthing but Christian. It is new age mysticism but veiled in Chritian terms. Is doctrine important? You bet- that is why God provided scripture in the first place. The Bible tells us that the antiChrist will use signs and wonders to deceive the nations. Not that I am calling Todd Bentley the antiChrist!! However we see that satan knows full well how to perform supernatural wonders in order to deceive. Instead we're all caught up on bashing people and calling their ministry false. Even if it IS false, all we're doing is bringing out the bad in Todd and gossiping about him, arguing and proving points... not once have i seen an article on here bringing out the positive in Todd unless it was a proponent of this move of God.
I understand you're trying to "warn" your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. But even if this move WAS false, don't hate the sinner, hate the sin.
I have tasted and seen fruit from this revival and have received impartation. Demons on my school campus have been cast out of people, resulting in their salvation. If i received the same Spirit from this revival that they are experiencing down there, this movement IS OF GOD. Because the devil does not cast out his own. The Spirit of God casts out the devil in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. People on my campus have been miraculously healed of everything from fear, to sickness to a broken foot!
And I'm sorry, but watching this revival has done everything BUT bring me away from God.
My growth in the last 2 months has been INSANE!! The Lord has brought me into new places in Him and shown me so much, and I have tasted more and more and seen that He is good.

There is a move of the Living God that is manifesting salvations and healings, for revival is about repentance, and salvation brings healings of all kinds. This may have started as a move of God, but somewhere along the way it became about the gifts and not the Giver. Discern the fruit of this movement. Pray for Todd Bentley.

Interesting that an Angel of Death would be called Samuel. Anyone remember when Saul went to the Witch of Endor?

Notice, that part where Saul says, "the one I name." That name for that spirit came from men, and not the real authority.

This is the work of men, whose hearts are evil.
When a man dies, his soul goes to heaven or hell (based on his response to Christ). The prophet Samuel's body died, but was eternally alive in Heaven. So Saul went to someone who conjures eternal beings (spirits), and asked for the dead. Big mistake. Of course a spiritual being condemned to die with this world is going to call himself "Samuel." He'll call himself whatever he needs to so long as he can convince someone to look to the source of death for the answers. A person who listens to that before Christ, will die eternally.
If I recall, Saul's actions made God pretty upset. I bet one of these spirits would even call itself "Paul" or "Abraham". Dare I say the day will come where it will call itself "Christ". When a man claims this "Christ's" identity, we will have an antichrist. Maybe The antichrist.
In Revelation 13 it talks about a beast with ten horns, with ten crowns on its horns. "Written on each head were names that blasphemed God." I reckon one of those names written would say "Emma," another, "Samuel" and so on.
Following these "angels" is a terrible mistake to make. Please, look to scripture before the voice of men or angels. Please.

I experienced the kundalini awakening quite by chance doing Hatha Yoga at home. I experienced it as a snake entering from the lower abdomen.
Fear of this event led me to seek for yoga teacher or guru(waste of time) so started studying. It seems people have experienced this all through history. Some from distress, depression, academic force of will. The snake it is said from Hindu tradition lies dormant at the base of the spine coiled 3 and half times that is in all of us. I still struggle with the idea I might be deceived. However there are a great many biblical illustrations as left in the bible. For instance I have seen a Hindu graphic of a yogini with a flame of fire upon his head. I was struck at just how similar to the tongues of fire we have on Pentecost. I have better ones but I feel I have written too much. Oh by the way Reiki is laying on of hands to facilitate the movement of trapped energy - for healing. Please understand forums like this are a great opportunity to share our understandings . I will defend my faith in Christ even if I am deceived. I am glad you have commented. My first question to you would be, "What has your Jesus Christ saved you from?"
Yoga is to "yoke" the body, mind and spirit together. Why would you want to connect your spirit with your flesh that you know is going to die? Your body will die one day right? Where will your soul go then?
You said that historically people experience kundalini "distress, depression, academic force of will." Your response after it happened was fear, so you went to a guru. I believe that seeking after God starts with fear (of Him) and though He is terrifying to us (because we are so insignificant in comparison), we are left having been fixed. Joy and salvation from the consequence of eternal death are the fruit of Jesus Christ. Which would you choose? Joy or depression?
It is scary to think that Satan must know the Bible better than any of us. That is why he is so good at switching our definitions. He does take Biblical illustrations (like fire at penticost), and would have you believe that his side is right. Hindu tradition and the Bible both have "the snake" in it. But please understand what the snake is! The snake tricked man into thinking he could become like God. We are not gods.
We must measure ourselves against the Bible and do more than just hear Biblical terms. If we do not commit our hearts completely to this we will be deceived. (I am talking to all believers).
Reiki is dangerous too. 1 Timothy 5:22 says "Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure." Reiki is correct in saying that there is "energy" transfer in physical contact, but that does not mean we can assume it is a good thing. The pinnacle of human physical contact is sexual intimacy, and do you think that it would be a good thing to share with anyone at any time who simply wanted it? No! There is only one context that it is correct. We must measure the source, test the spirit against the Bible.
The Bible is a book that none of us will completely understand and that is okay, we're not meant to, it is not in our ability to. However, there is an underlining message that is consistent throughout the whole book and it is Good News! Do you understand what the Good News is?
I hope that we are not seeking each other's opinions but instead God's. I would challenge you to not just defend your faith in Christ but to be sure you know who He is.

You said you struggle with the fact that you might be deceived. You are correct in observing that there are many similarities between eastern mysticism and the charismatic side of Christianity. Indeed there are.
The difference comes from the source of the power. You see there are not many ways to God there is only one. Jesus said I am THE way THE Truth and THE life and NO man comes to the Father but by me! The Eastern religions may claim that they are seeking Christ but they are seeking the "Christ Consciousness" which is quite another thing. The believe they will evolve to BECOME Christ! What complicates things even more is that many Christians say their experiences are the Holy Spirit when they are not. There are many seducing spirits. In fact Jesus said that this is what would characterize the last days! I ask Russ only one thing. Pray and ask God to lead you into his Truth ask Him to show you the areas in your life where you have been deceived (we all have them). Then, get to know His word so that you will know when someone is bending or twisting His Holy word.

I feel deceived because I cannot talk to a guru they are not too concerned with other religions except to encourage one to stay in the belief of ones up bringing. Not appreciating a Christians concerns. Saying that, the opposite is true of Christians who want to preach at you. It is as if for the most part nobody really engages the confusion a Christian faces. I was not expecting to have a serpent fire experience. I was just enjoying the gymnastic and breathing that was so relaxing. CHRIST IS THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. Yes I believe this implicitly.
The charismatic movement from the early part of the last century America, was clearly not effectual nor miraculous. They claimed miracles but healed non. They never entered hospitals and healed the sick. It was all staged managed. Speaking in strange tongues but never other languages.
This new movement is different both internally real and potent. But Is it of God? I am am not convinced on the matter. So I am pincered by both church and guru and am deeply uncertain. God sealed me in the spirit SFRIGIZO greek and the seal is his mark of possession. I have got to believe that as I trundel forward in this predicament. Their seems to be no real way to undo the inner manifestation within me. Those so carefully laid out above are all very true to this unfolding

I know what you mean when you say that no one can answer everything in the scriptures. For the most part I support all your arguments from scripture. So I am to sure how to answer your question on bodies and yoke. JESUS ASCENDED AS DID ELIJAH IN BODILY FORM. Davids is still in the tomb as is Moses. On the last day those who are alive will be raised in the twinlkling of an eye, seemingly bods and all. Bodies said Paul, their are earthly and heavenly bodies. Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. Will they be transformed? Perhaps you can tell me because I'm not sure. But remember with God all things are possible. I've seen many hold opposing views on the nature of the ascended body. The flesh is often spoken of as depraved in the context of the Law. The FLESH as opposed to the Spirit the Way of Christ.
The Good news as spelled out so briefly yet also spiritually concise, by Paul in Romans . The gospel IS THE POWER unto salvation to everyone who believes.... For in it the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD REVEALED... I,m sure you can see that I know the Good News. This living truth set me free. I have discovered that many people have had similar experiences as you with this type of energy. The first I discovered was from a catholic that wrote a book about it.
This field of "energy" is of great interest to me and I am currently researching it broadly. There is a possibility that beyond supernatural power of the occult and the God's spiritual forces, there is an element of human, or soul, power. This is part of what I am looking at from a theological perspective. I would be interested in hearing about your experiences.
God is good to save us and continue to purify us as we grow in Christ. It is good that people are looking out for the flock that can easily be mislead by manifestations that lead one away from God.
I'm not of the camp that believes in simple answers to complex issues and I appreciate the research that goes into this site.
I have friends involved in healing ministry but they don't have some kind of "power" to wave around. I'm suspicious of a lot of the pentecostal history and experience, but am open to the sincerity of love for God that many have. We all seem to be misguided in one way or another in our various affiliations.
I question at times, which is worse the selfish, materialistic, consumerist greed of many American Christians that ignore the "true religion" of caring for the poor, the widows and orphans OR those that get caught up in fleshly manifestations, seeking intense sensual experiences? These are questions I wrestle with.
Of course, the latter creeps me out more!

It is okay that you feel deceived. It is true that your guru is an educated man, and perhaps even an authority between men. But he is not The authority. The questions of your soul's searching, he will not be able to answer. The words of men can only act as a guide and cannot walk your faith for you. So it is again that I make my appeal to the scriptures, to the Bible. The true authority found in those 66 books. I can quote scripture to you all we want, but at the end of the day it is up to you to decide whether it is your faith. You do not need to go to me, or any other man to find God. Don't look inside yourself (we know what the heart of man is), just look to the Bible. I hope you will agree that it is exciting!
I also hope that you have not been left feeling like we (especially me) are preaching at you. Because these really are only our opinions and witnesses to the things that have changed the corruption in our hearts. We once were lost, we have now been found. The reason for this is because Christians are forgetting what they believe. Christians are looking to Christians instead of to Christ, so they forget that someone had to die for them.
I appreciate that you asked the question. "But Is it of God?" This is a question we must always ask. I have seen miracles that many people would never believe, which is fine. However, as soon as miracles are considered "unusual" we have a problem, this comes from disbelief. Miracles are common for God, he does them all the time, so why should they surprise us? I believe that when someone seeks the miracle instead of God, if the miracle happens, then it is not of God, but is something terrible. Trust and follow God first and then let the miracles happen when He wants them to.
I would be hesitant to accept a title from God that comes anywhere but the Bible. I do not know what "SFRIGIZO" is, but please be careful. Is it not enough that we have been called "God's children?" Do you really need another name (from a different source)? Is there any better name we could have? We are certainly not His brothers, but I will gladly be considered his child.

Now concerning the response you directed at me...

Christ does have the power to clean us from our sins, but let us never forget what has washed us clean. Regeneration and renewal are a part of it, but it is only through His shed blood. He died. God died for each of us because of what we've done to Him. Thankfully my sins were not enough to keep Him dead.
I am glad you made the connection between Jesus and Elijah ascending to heaven. It seems similar, but there is a significant difference between the two of them. First, Jesus descended from heaven to get to earth, so his authority comes from Heaven. Elijah went to heaven, but was not from heaven. He was a man like you and me. The difference between Jesus and Elijah also, is that Jesus died before He ascended to heaven. Lastly, the final difference is that Elijah ascended to heaven through the body of a man (in an angelic chariot, not his own strength). Christ ascended to heaven through a resurrected body (his strength that overcomes death). A body that actually felt and defeated the flames of hell itself. Many people will admit that Christ died, but they will ignore that He was forsaken and rejected by the Father for us. The abandonment He felt in His soul was a far greater pain than his physical crucifixion. Can you imagine having the Father turn His back on you? I know I would rather die. Christ could have called angels to save him, but He didn't...He knew what had to be done (His defeating hell).
"Flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. Will they be transformed? Perhaps you can tell me because I'm not sure. But remember with God all things are possible." Flesh and blood will not enter heaven, they are of this world and will die with it. In my own belief (based on what I read in the Bible), they will not be transformed. That is why it is important that we don't join our souls to anything in the flesh of this world. It is true that with God all things are possible, but that is coming from a human perspective that can't comprehend God. For God to give us eternal life with Him based on our flesh would break His Law and contradict his nature. He wouldn't do that, He is the Law.

You are right on about the flesh, but we cannot forget that our flesh has corrupted our spirit, thus the need for Christ. The spirit is not the way of Christ, Christ is the Way the cleanses spirits.
I want to take a look at your final statement:

That has truth in it, but I hope you will let me add a few more thoughts.
The gospel has power in it, but the Good News is the message of someone who died. The Good News consists of the greatest failure of humanity. The murder of the only Deity. We killed God and He let us. He faced hell just so we wouldn't have to. Our decisions put Him there. The Good News is that He won.
When we miss out the part that Jesus died it means we think that we don't have to. If we miss out the part about his resurrection it means that we don't realize we've been made clean and that we owe Him everything we can give (our lives). We need to apologize to what we did to Jesus.
I do not believe you are free. If you were you wouldn't ask me to help cast a demon out of you. It is not by my name that spirits submit. Christ alone my friend. The Christ who died because we hold onto these spirits. Christ defeated them. Would you let go of them in His name?
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Let us never forget that that path is marked with blood. First His, next ours. We live and die for Him, He did the same for us.

I hope to answer some of your questions, as I was involved in the yoga type meditation back in the early 70's late 60's.The article about that is on this web site at http://deceptionbytes.com/node/27 I have really come to the conclusion that no matter what the issues or "experiences" are, whether it is some sort of phenomena/manifestation, or intellectual, the deciding factor in what we do with it is one of the heart.

Paul was not just talking about the comfort of home and his material possessions...he had lost his prestige, his position in his culture in which he was highly esteemed. He was looked upon now as just a nut case, and a trouble maker. Are we willing to do the same? Time will tell, as the sheep and the goats are separated.

Well Kundakini is according to eastern mysticism a "force" that lies coiled like a snake at the base of the spine. OF course as Christians, we know this "force" to be evil. When this force arises it is called the "awakening" or the "awakening of Kundalini". It is felt as heat, often rising up the spine towards the head.
There are other manifestations, electricity, tingling, spontaneous healings, feeling drunk, staggering, lying frozen unable to move, spontaneous vocalizations or animal sounds. These are only some of the manifestations that are present under the "awakening" of Kundalini. These symptoms are identical to those experiences in this and many other revivals leading me to wonder what whether the source is really the Holy Spirit.
I for one do not beleive these manifestations are from God as there is NO biblical precident for them. These manifestations have been experienced in eastern and mystical religions and amoung other occultic groups who are certainly not under the influence of the Holy Spirit.

The kundalini, a real and true experience for the initiate either, spontaneous or by practiced "spiritual" exercises it is most often seen in the mind of the individual (fatigued or depressed or no longer awed by the topics of the world and thus seeks some form of repentance turning) just plain lost interest in the mundane of all things of this world. The North American Indians spoke of the adolescent who would masturbate a lot to be the next Mootyman/shaman or doctor (satanic to some) of the tribe. Why because kundalini though not exclusively, is tied to the sexuality in purity of thought and seminal reversal. Perhaps this is why it is called a fire. The sexual aspect starts at the base of the spine and rises cleansing purifying opening ancient passages and at the time of reward, orgasmic mind/ body bliss. The moments of bliss are the sweetness of the flowers of poetry. Too tie this up, the sexual force of life which is at first outward driving & shaping his personality/character/ambitions and perspectives ect Becomes reversed and united with his spiritual knowing that he has got to make this resurection. Please tell me how do you abandon this. I tried to tell you this earlier this is not just switched on and off. The real truth of the matter is that TAI Chi, Chi Gong, Dimmak and Yoga speak of the prana as coming from the heavens as in the Sun. The old religions worshiped the Sun.
Yoga teachings say that the life force that sustains all life is from the Sun. Now you and I both know that the pagans rejected the Supreme Creator and worshiped the creation, instead. Unlike the deadness of idol worship which was merely a piece of wood or stone unable to to talk or act in ones life this is a connection to something that is an active vital force/energy. I have read largely on this topic, and some have said of Jesus saying When thine eye becomes one then thy whole body will be full of light. Seeing this as the inner eye of the central forehead. The ancient mystery religions were for the wealthy and the elite only, to know the inner core teachings. They veiled this from the others saying that they were not yet ready or it is they were selfish rulers giving instead only outer mysteries thus protecting the inner cabal. The source of creation is the Creator. His sun in the sky has always sent a light/heat and if these Easterners are right a form of Life energy without which our planet is doomed. The pranna is their alright, believe me. Is it of God ?
The old testament stood against such such worship. I agree why worship creation when it is God's to receive adoration and wonder. However I am at odds to think that this life giving force so prevalent in our world particularly at spring when vegetable matter just takes off in spurt of renewal. You are right to know the matter isn't just "switched off." There will be a war for your heart your whole life. It is okay that you are confused, you won't understand everything. But understand what is important, understand what is truth. I can see that you are of considerable devotion and commitment, that few people are capable of. The greatest issue in your life is what you spend that devotion and commitment on. Man should spend it on the Word of God in the 66 books of Bible.
Our command is to love God with everything we have first, then to love each other second. The great commission is our marching orders. Go into the world, preach the Gospel, baptize believers, disciple those who are baptized.
Prana, Qi, Chi, Ki, breath, spirit and the many other names it has, is real. But it is really not as complicated as they would try to have it seem. It is simply flesh, the things of this world. There is all sorts of teaching that would have you believe that if you harness it you can manipulate even space outside yourself. Maybe, but to do so is binding yourself to a world that will die. But you do not have to do this.
The only spirit you need is the Holy Spirit found in the Bible. The message of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection for you! Not some spirit or energy that's source comes from within you. But if you go to the Word of God, his spirit becomes alive in you. I pray that your eyes are opened to these things and I hope other believers reading this will as well. Know that you are deeply cared for.

a couple of years ago when i was a baby christian i went to a home bible study with my new church family.
to make a very long story short, that night suddenly they al said stuff like "The Holy Spirit is here!"
i knew that was odd because the Spirit indwells the beliver.
but they laid hands on each other and on me.
the others were laughing and rolling around. but i was immediately PARALYZED and saw visions of swirling gold and silver etc.
the next thing i remember was being in the car on the way home and asking my companions why i felt so giddy...they said i was driunk in the spirit.
three weeks later i noticed i hadn't read my bible at all and had even an aversion to it. i was afraid to commit the unpardonable sin, so i carefully put out a fleece to God concerning the spirit. i believe He honoured that by confirming this was not of God. i had been enjoying ecstatic feelings, tings of flesh.
then i went into prayer and fasting and 3 weeks later after lots of rayer and study i was delivered (at least i had belived so unto this day when i read this stuff about kundalini).
now i am very worried about this thing. can it be cast off? was i delivered that year? or is this thing still around me???
it is difficult enough trying to sort through all the funky doctrine in the world, let alone this....can anyone post info on deliverance from this? i feel it was gone but i am worried now

Thank God He confirmed to you, that what you experienced, did not come from Him, and therefore are evil.
As I see you took this very serieus, and put your faith in action, by fasting and praying, and reading and studying the Word of God.
If you repented from this, and asked Jesus Christ to cleanse you from evil, to cover you with His blood, I surely believe you are free now.

I think this is natural. We all want to feel that we are loved by others, and so by God. But this is a tricky one, because we are living in a culture of feeling good, experiencing things. God's Word is a message of love for His children, and His Word is enough. Whether you feel it or not: He is there with you, taking care of you, in His everlasting love for you.

Yes, that sounds very typlical of this type of experience. I was part of the 'Toronto Blessing" and had been very involved with the prophetic and apostolic movement. I ran in those circles for many many years. Just about every manifestation you can think of I have had. At the time there was no one that could have told me that these were not from God! They felt so wonferful so ethereal. I felt so spiritual and I began to feel enlightened and "above" those that were not. It "felt" so right.
However, what you say about having an aversion to your Bible is correct! That was the first thing that I noticed - I stopped reading my Bible. When I was at Toronto or Morningstar I hever saw ANYONE open a Bible. There seemed to be an aversion to anything doctrinally sound. If I questioned I was called legalistic or was hanging on to the old wineskins. What these self styled prophets and apostles wanted was blind obedience. Of course they feel that they do not need the Bible as they beleive in progressive revelation. They feel that the Holy Spirit tells them everything they need to know. oooooooh I could tell you some stories!!
The other thing I noticed was a sharp increase in drug and alcohol abuse and also mental illness among the people that joined themselves to this. It seems to literally make people unbalanced.
Anyway, my deliverance came when I purposed in my heart to leave it behind and find the GOD OF THE BIBLE! I was in a small church in the mountains and the pastor prayed for me and I felt something break off. However, after being steeped in false teaching for years it took a long time to walk out that deliverance. I also renounced my involvement and asked for forgiveness.
I now pray daily that God will reveal the areas where I am deceived and I hold tight to scripture. I do believe that you have been delivered - I really do need to do some more research on this though and get it posted here.
Hopefully others will add there experience with this as well.

Good to read your story, I am happy that you are free from the whole thing now. I still know people who are in all this. A couple of years ago I attended a very healthy (I thought) church. There was a very impressive prophecy by one of the people that attended the service. There was a holy silence, because God was speaking. Right in the middle of it, a woman started to laugh, awful devilish. The prophecy kind of faded away and soon half of the congregation was laughing, grinning and so on. From that moment on I just knew: if this Toronto stuff is ment to be a blessing, is sure is not a blessing from the living God.

The Saints And The Wrath Of God

There will be saints in the tribulation, and these saints will be the same ones who see the beginning of the tribulation:
They offer prayers:
(Rev 5:8 KJV) And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
The prayers are the saints on earth as "they ascend up before God":
(Rev 8:3-4 KJV) And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. {4} And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
After the Lord delivers God's final wrath, the saints are rewarded, not seven years before or near the end of the tribulation as other doctrines propose:
(Rev 11:18 KJV) And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
The antichrist makes war with the saints during the tribulation:
(Rev 13:7 KJV) And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
The saints must persevere during the tribulation:
(Rev 13:10 KJV) He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
The saints must have patience during the tribulation:
(Rev 14:12 KJV) Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
The blood of the saints is shed during the tribulation:
(Rev 16:6 KJV) For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
The blood of the saints is shed during the tribulation:
(Rev 17:6 KJV) And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
In Babylon is found the blood of the saints:
(Rev 18:24 KJV) And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
ALL the saints are in the holy city at the end of the millennium, which, if you think about it, are saints just like those in the tribulation because there are no classifications of saints. Saints are saints:
(Rev 20:9 KJV) And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
SAINT (Strong's) sacred (phys. pure, mor. blameless or religious, cer. consecrated):--(most) holy (one, thing), saint.
Jew or gentile, male or female, rich or poor can all be saints ONLY BY the shed blood of Christ. So MUST BE the saints in the tribulation. The unbelieving Jews in the tribulation are not saints. The unbelieving Gentiles in the tribulation are not saints. Those who are saints belong to Christ and are members of the church. Any doctrine that says the saints are raptured and God saves more saints to be in the tribulation have to create a new, biblically undefined species of "saint" and come under the warnings of Revelation 22:17-20. Why people nullify the word of God by following the perverted teachings of men and jeapordize their spiritual inheritance in the Rev 22 verses, I don't understand. They would deny the saint's presence in the tribulation by verbal gymnastics when it clearly says they are present within it. There is nothing to distinguish the saints in tribulation from any other saint. They pray during it, they are martyred during it, the persevere during it, they keep their garments pure during all their trials and Jesus addresses encouragement to them in it:
Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Only a saint can do these things, a saint who is committed to Jesus with his very life's blood. How ridiculous the theories that deny God's word.
