As if it could get any more bizarre. I ran across this Todd Bentley audio clip in my internet travels and had to shake my head in disbelief and despair. If you had any doubt that Todd Bentley is a dangerous false prophet you need to take a look at this. Below is the actual quote from Bentley.
“Now for some of you that are here, it doesn't really matter to you ... all that stuff. All you care about is ... God's moving. And you know what, that's all that really matters. So if you're not big on prophetic, supernatural, and angels, I'm sorry. It's my testimony. But if you want to know why God's moving, I have to tell you the whole story. And if you don't believe the story, well......sorry.
So essentially Todd is saying that God is moving because of the supernatural and angels- HUH?
You know, I told the Lord, "Why can't I just move in healing and forget talking about all that -other stuff?" He said, "
Because, Todd you've got to get the people to believe in the angel." I said, "God, why do I want people to believe in the angel? Isn't it about getting the people to believe in Jesus?" He said, "The people already believe in Jesus, but the Church doesn't believe in the supernatural."
So Todd Bentley is telling us that getting people to believe in THE angel is more important than preaching Jesus. There are a few things that concern me here (aside from the obvious). Todd Bentley’s lord” is telling him that he has to get people to believe in THE angel. He doesn’t say Todd, get them to believe in angels (which would be strange in and of itself) but he clearly says THE angel. What angel is Todd referring to? Emma? Samael? The Winds of Change Angel? The Financial Angel? The Angel of Liberty? The Healing Revival Angel? William Branham’s angel? I mean his teachings are rife with angels so who is THE angel that his “lord” want him to make us believe in? I want to note that in the early days Bentley made reference on stage to his angel Emma to whom he attributed the healings. Bentley even invited people onstage at one point so that the angel could enter them. If you read his teaching on “The Angelic Host” he talks at great length about her. However, after the outcry from discerning Christians and the many articles and blogs on the internet condemning him as a heretic, the references to Emma magically disappeared from his website. Now you see them- now you don’t- Poor, poor Emma.Anyway, Todd goes on to say the following:
“The Church has no problem believing in Jesus, what we don't believe in is the supernatural. We don't believe in angels. We don't believe in the prophetic. We don't believe in some of what's going on. And I'll tell you what; we need to have an awakening.
I said, "Well, God, maybe you want to give this ministry to somebody else, because nobody's going to receive it in the package that I come in." I said, "You gotta give me the most controversial testimony? You gotta visit me with all this supernatural stuff? I mean, hey, maybe if I was a little more clean-shaven and polished, people would believe me more." Or maybe, the world is looking for something new... How many of you believe we need something new?”
So, Todd Bentley is lamenting to God that people were not going to receive his ministry because of the package that he (Bentley) came in. Well, that’s odd, Todd Bentley WAS clean cut and clean shaven yet he tattooed and pierced himself well after he had an established ministry. If he was going to complain to God that no one would receive him because of this then why did he do it? Next he is complaining that God is visiting him with all this supernatural stuff yet he is the one actively pursuing it.
Am I the only one who thinks this is completely and utterly insane?
Dude your absolutely right, this dude is nuts, and people are actually OUT THERE, believing his stuff. That fact alone, that people would actually believe this and hear this man who is obviously insane, scares the every living piss out of me
Well everyone is so hungry for SOMETHING other that what there getting at their own churchs. In one way the guys right in saying the world wants something different...and sometimes the people are so hugry for that "Something different" that they don't take the time to look into what there being told...and what he's saying isn't the real truth...he's a FALSE PROPHET!!!
People have always had "itching ears" and have made themselves available to "every wind of doctrine". Seems that the children of Israel were not very happy with their daily ration of manna either.
Let them eat quail, until they vomit. The real problem may not be Todd, but rather those who run after him seeking sensual gratification instead of true spiritual development.
It's more fun to go to a carnival than to sit and study. The problem with this kind "entertainment" is that it is a-muse-ment. That is to say: a - muse
no - think
I have yet to read anyone make a serious case for a doctrinal or theological polemic to support Todd's aberrant teachings. The only apologetic presented is an emotional appeal based on personal "feelings" that this must all be good, because it "feels" good.
'Well everyone is so hungry for SOMETHING other that what there getting at their own churchs.'
Why don't they just get into the Word, and really get to know the Godhead. They won't ever again be bored, and then they will be able to identify a false prophet or false teacher when they encounter one.
Bravo Mishel..once again you manage to blow all things out of proportion.
Tell me, when at any time did Todd say the supernatural was more important (as you put it) than Jesus? I'm not asking for your lousy interpretation and putting words in Todd's mouth, but you tell me where he said that?........oh no i guess you can't.
And when Todd talks about him as a package, do you actuall yknow what he's refering to? Of course you would immediately dwell on his outward appearance....to which you would be gravely mistaken. If you knew about Todd's past pre Christ you would know what he means by being an acceptable package. Thought you would know all this being such a research expert. But there again, those that seek to criticize, twist, and misenterpret what this man of God says, because you are unrighteuosly threatened; offended; and out of your comfort zone, would only focus on what they can attack and forget the good and the reasoning behind it.
repent mishel. do you really think what you are doing is glorifying to God.
Higherground: I do always try to allow voice to those who disagree and I do not ask that you agree with me to post here. However, due to the fact that you have left over 10 posts on my website in a matter of a few minutes it is obvious that your goal is not to engage in constructive and respectful discourse. It is not even possible that you even read the articles in question since you commented on them one right after another.
It is exhausting to me personally to spend time answering peoples questions only to turn around and have the next person ask the same thing. However, I will try to address your concerns if you post them respectfully and concisely in the forum.
It is not that I do not understand where you are coming from- I do. I was in the apostolic and prophetic movement for many many years, was a part of Rick Joyners Ministry school and have friends that are ministering with Todd Bentley. I have had the manifestations, pretty much all of them. I do not come against it because I do not understand it- I come against it because I understand it all too well.
Thats a rather disconcerting response mishel.
I am not going to argue with you, and i am very sad at your last remarks how you come against what you once (allegedly) experienced first hand.
I am also very put off to hear you have a problem with me posting my views on many articles. if you read my responses they are relevant to your posts. It's quite clear you are not comfortable with someone posting responses you don't like, maybe i'm asking too much from you..?
There is also nothing disrespectful about my posts, they sinply address your views and what you have put. there is more disrespectful speach coming from your articles twisting words and being very vidicitive towards what God is doing through Todd Bentley. If you are going to put these things on the internet Mishel then you mustn't expect everyone to just agree with you.
I see this is a forum for those who just want agree, moan amongst yourselves and decieve one another.
I will steer clear of this website in futute.
Higher Groung: I do not have a problem with you posting your views on several articles but I do have a problem when you copy and paste the same coments onto several articles within the span of 5 minutes. Over 10 comments in a span of 5 minutes is excessive by anyones definition (and not humanly possible without the copy and paste function).
You are welcome to post on several articles- as long as you are adding something and not just saying the exact same thing- I hope you understand what I trying to say.
You say that I am overly bothered by what you say and only want people to agree with me- if that is the case why are your posts still intact? It would take me a second to delete your posts and ban your IP address but I have not. You are welcome to stay and you are welcome to go- it is entirely up to you- I am not asking you to believe or even agree with what I have written. I am also not asking that you like me personally. However I do ask that you forgive me if I have in any way given you the impression you are not welcome here. You are. I was exactly where you are right now so I do not find your opposing views intimidating - I lived this stuff. If you truly want to discuss just say the word- I will make a site on the forum and we put our emotions aside and discuss these things scripturally.
I think it's insane too.
He said,-
"Or maybe, the world is looking for something new... How many of you believe we need something new?"
Looking for something new? And what would that be, Mr. Bentley? It's the same centuries old deception, wrapped up in a new package.
Praying for others to not be deceived by this guy.
Hi Mishel,
Thanks for your research! It helps me to see clearly what is happening here!
God bless & Shalom!
