The following was transcribed word for word from a highly disturbing Todd Bentley Video. On it, Bentley describes several incidents where “God” instructed him to use violence against people. As he describes these things his audience laughs and cheers.
The woman was standing in the back of the room when the Faith of God hit the meeting and her tumor exploded out of her right leg slid down her leg on the floor. I said like God I prayed for like a hundred crippled people and not one … and He said that’s because I want you to grab the crippled ladies legs and bang them up and down on the platform like a baseball bat. I walked up and grabbed her legs and I started going “be healed- be healed” I started banging them up and down on the platform- she got healed.
I am thinking why is the power of God not moving and he said it is because you haven’t kicked that women in the face and there was like this older lady worshiping right in front of the platform and the Holy Spirit spoke to me and the gift of faith came on me He said …kick her in the face…with your biker boot. I inched closer and I went like this (makes kicking motion) BAM and as my boot made contact with her nose she fell under the power of God.
[So let me get this straight …. God tells Todd Bentley to KICK AN ELDERLY WOMEN IN THE FACE WITH HIS BOOT and she falls (well … no surprise there) and he says she fell under the power of God?? HUH? What is even more disturbing about this clip is that the congregation LAUGHS about it]
And I saw him and the gift of faith came on me and I said what do I do God? And God told me to just run em down- so I jumped up in the air and I went BAM and I hit him to the ground, jumped on to him and got into a full mount-ground and pound- I jumped on him and I was in a full mount and something came over me and instead of punching him I grabbed him by the neck and started choking him (makes choking motions) and I said come out of him devil… come out of him devil.
[Did you get that ...something “comes over him” and he thinks that it is God telling him to body slam a man to the ground, jump on him and then punch and choke him? Hello!! That is not the power of God - it’s ASSAULT.}
And I was in another meeting one time and I called out this Chinese gentlemen and all of a sudden I went running down the isle and I hit this guy so hard it drove him back several feet -he hit the ground and his tooth popped right out of his mouth.
[He hits a man so violently he knocks him to the floor and he loses a tooth and this is God?]
The pastor was lying on the floor and I was standing up on the platform and I said God I want revival and he said these words to me “Leg drop the pastor’ I said what and He said -leg-drop –the-pastor.
[The perquisite to revival is leg dropping a man of God? What??]
There is no Biblical precedent for using violence of any kind to “heal” someone in fact it is so counter-intuitive that it become mind boggling how people could equate this with God in the first place. What is astounding to me is that his audience claps and cheers. Lord Jesus …bring Truth to your people.

The bible says in Proverbs
The bible says in Proverbs 18v21, Death and Life is in the power of the tongue and those who believe it shall eat the fruit thereof. Well my message to you is, continue making a mokkery of God's prophets, pastors or anyone He uses to bring a message accross, YOUR little life will be shortend. If you by any chance think that the god(whom I believe is satan) you're serving is powerful...think again. Do not mess with God!!! If so. . . Start counting your days.
To live is Christ, to die is
To live is Christ, to die is gain...please make your statements in Christ like love. Thanks for the read there "Son of God" ( by the way there is only one Son of God)
I simply transcribed it word
I simply transcribed it word from word from Todd Bentley's own mouth and also included the video as proof.... for that God is going to kill me? Mishel
Thank you for posting the
Thank you for posting the truth, and giving these videos to the public. The videos do not lie. The church needs to call on the Most High God to stop that man from further damage, and repent. Our very salvation is at stake. This is serious, and the church is sitting there laughing at him, drinking the polluted water! Do not be afraid to keep giving the truth.

in 1 corintios 2:9 thing that eye did not see, neither heard oyo, nor has raised man heart is what God is preparation for they love which it.
No there is not only One Son
No there is not only One Son of God. The greek word for the baptised Jesus in the Jordan is "Huios" and God says, My Son in whom I am pleased. This word "huios" is used many times in the N.T. when referring to Holy Spirit filled followers of Jesus Christ. Though we may be sons (huios) of God, not many are "manifested" sons of God...but since Creation is waiting for it! Do some word study and meditation. The Truth will come to you.
Cuckoo.
Cuckoo.
Looney bird.
Looney bird.
AAAAAAH yes the "manifested"
AAAAAAH yes the "manifested" sons of god.. who will according to the latter rain movement take over the world ..( oh wait I meant win the world for Christ) and put all things under their feet. They will joyfully kill those who dont go along with their one world church. Yes I am very familiar with the doctrine. I am ashamed to say I was once part of it. There is only one world system mentioned in the Bible and it sure isnt God's. And while I agree that those of us who are blood bought Christians ( there is only one way to heaven) are sons and daughters of God, there is only one Son of God - we are NOT equal with Jesus and we most certainly are NOT little gods. There is only one God and you or I are not Him!
Amen. What she said!
Amen. What she said!
By their Fruit you shall know
By their Fruit you shall know them; the 'sheep covering' must have fallen off. I believe we will be seeing things getting more and more extreme as the days go by. Thank you for sharing this video.
I heard on another website thread that 'god' told Todd to stop an inch away from this woman's face that 'god' told him to kick, as a 'testing of his obedience'. But according to the clip, he DID kick her in the face?! I know the other examples he gave speak volumes, but I wanted to get the facts straight on this one. Thanks.
To Son of God: Right on
To Son of God:
Right on man.
Psalm 105:15 Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
Isaiah 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence...
The Lord offends the mind to reveal the heart!!!
We're missing something. The Lord used violence in a huge way to bring healing and life to this world. Can you guess what it was??
HE SENT HIS ONE AND ONLY SON JESUS CHRIST, AS A SHEEP TO THE SLAUGHTER, TO DIE FOR THE SIN OF THE WORLD! AND IT IS BY HIS STRIPES, THE VIOLENCE HE RECEIVED, THAT WE ARE HEALED. Violence.
Matthew 11:12 For since the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffereth(allows) violence and the violent take it by force.
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
God does weird stuff sometimes. David rejected the armor he was given and went on to kill the giant with nothing but a piece of cloth and some stones. FOOLISH. Maybe to Saul, but not to God OR David. Stop dictating how God is supposed to move and just LET HIM MOVE!!
Yes, Mishel, you "only" posted a video. But in the end, all idle words will be accounted for, and blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is unforgivable.
Have you heard of Smith Wigglesworth? I laughed when i first heard his name. There was a man with cancer in his stomach. The Lord told him to punch the guy and the cancer would leave. Smith punched the man and the man fell to the ground. All those around him were upset, saying, "You killed him!! You killed him!! He's dead!!" Smith calmly says, "Watch!! He's healed!!" The man gets up and is healed and Jesus was glorified that day.
God can do what He wants.
This man is NOT anointed!
This man is NOT anointed! Well...not by God anyway. He is NOT a prophet of God. I might even go so far as to fear he is possessed by a demon.
This guy is scary!
Karen
Thank you for sharing this
Thank you for sharing this video footage to expose this man for all to see. Do not fear those that would warn you with the "Touch not my anointed..." passages. Every true believer is anointed of God by the Holy Spirit. Every individual has a purpose in the body.
I am SHOCKED that anyone could believe this man is doing God's will by kicking women in the face and knocking out teeth. The man knows not what spirit he is of. Sinners can see this is of the devil. It is lamentable that the believers could be so deeply deceived. I do not believe under pain of death that God would EVER tell a person to kick a worshipper in the face. That is BLASPHEMOUS!
God seeks such to worship Him. Would God tell a man to kick a women with His bicker boot in the nose as see worships God? Does that sound like God or SATAN? Really? SNAP OUT OF IT! For God's sake! WAKE UP!
...Would God EVER tell a
...Would God EVER tell a person to kick a worshipper in the face?
I cannot verify whether He did or not. However, I understand that lady was healed by this act.
Did God tell Abraham to sacrifice his own son Isaac as a burnt offering?
I do not advocate violence; Nor do I have the faith to obey such commands, if the Lord shall demand. However, I need to be cautious and not put God in a box. He does what He wants.

When was the last time God told a King to destroy an entire city?
The fact is, in this dispensation God has already revealed His workings. I don't care if the woman was healed. The enemy could done this as a lying sign and wonder. Read the Revelation whan the antichrist calls fire from heaven.
The key to revival is HUMILITY. This is what the woman was doing and she was kicked in the face. if that is not blasphemy of the Holy Spirit I do not know what is!
this is soooo sad.... Todd
this is soooo sad.... Todd Bentley is making a mockery out of the Gospel of CHRIST!!!!!!!!! How many are going to hell following this guy!!!!!??? Wake up and find the truth people.... READ 2 Thessalonians 2....
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
This is serious here!!!!
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 The
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
Amen to 2 Thessalonians
Amen to 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. The longer I ponder these things the more I see that men try to make a god after their own lusts. His myspace lists UFC as one of his favorite TV shows. Is there any wonder that he views God through that lens- through the lust of his own heart? When he hears what he thinks is the Holy Spirit it is the behavior of the UFC gods (demons). Satan again trying to fill the earth with violence (Genesis 6).
When God used force in the Old Testament it was to deal with the wickedness that threatened the human race. This is what happened with the Great Flood, the destruction of the cities of the plain (Sodom, etc.), and later the cities in the land that Joshua and David conquered. These things were not done for sport. There was a great and necessary purpose in it all. However, if the Church and believers act as salt and light in the world God should not have to rain destruction down. But we know that II Thess. 2 tells us different.
Sin and compromise in a persons life opens them up to these deceptions. One cannot be a friend of the world and not be the enemy of God. Can a person be a poster boy for worldliness and compromise within Christ's Church and God not deal with it? The saddest judgment of all is to be given over to your own lusts. God help us!
1 John 4:1 - "Dear friends,
1 John 4:1 - "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world."
Matthew 24:10-11 - "At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people."
Matthew 7:15 - "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves."
God's Word tells us to test the prophets and not to believe everyone who says they are of God, for many will deceive the elect in the name of God.
I also wanted to note that the people who are bashing Mishel are doing so in a spirit of hatred and contention, while Mishel has been consistently kind spirited. Something to think about...
You are all yet to see more
You are all yet to see more moves of God. 50,000 congregation at sunday service in Africa,Just one or single church service/meeting.So you are yet to see more.stop fighting, go to Africa, you will understand many things you can watch videos also at
{link to video's removed} I do thank you for visiting this site but I can not allow you to advertise when the very nature of this website is to warn against such churches. This is not open to negotiation. Mishel
But Mishel there are many
But Mishel there are many likes on your website, which assist your purpose and that one you did not remove them. Please let us not make the Church of God spiritless.God has more power than the devil.Let make the world knows the power of God in the fullness of His word.My purpose here on your website is not to attack any human but to let you know, you must let others know that God has power and God is able to do more than you are fighting on.If you are not careful you may let many think is the same everywhere. So please be very careful. If you don`t accept somebody ministry, then you must show the Goesple with Proves yourself and let people know the real power of God you are talking about and not just theory. Many souls are perishing and Christians you are all fighting on one person.Go out and preach the Gospel to those perishing.Do you also have something against the link i put there too?.This is Assemblies of God Church trained preacher. It seem the link didn`t assist your work but you should has contact the man. Are you not there to show what is good?.Was the Church born spiritless? No ? but why you speak against all moves of God without praying to ask God the source of Power. Please what is your denomination, if I may ask?I want to hear from you, what God told?. Because Jesus faced the same work you are doing in the days of His ministry. Many tried to stop Him with theories of the law.
Please try to also make people know God has power. Our work is to teach the truth and truth itself shall fight and prove who is from God or not.Africa many are praying, so those with unaccepted ministry are not able to operate.Years ago many spiritual churches but as I write you now , most of all such Churches has cloes down, no more in operation because many leaders prayed against such Churches. So my advice to you is have time with God, please set up your prayer team and fight spiritually, within a few years, you will not see Churches which are not from God but if it is from God, they will stand.Look at the great work of ministries in Africa, they are growing faster.
THE CHURCH IS A PLACE OF GOD`S PRESENCES WITH THE TRUE WORD OF GOD.
THE SENTENCE BELOW IS FROM
THE SENTENCE BELOW IS FROM YOUR STATEMENT OF FAITH:
"I believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed but do not LEAD to Salvation".
Please I want to know where in the Bible Water baptism does not lead to SALVATION?.If you say it doesn`t lead one to enternal life, then I will understand you because the thief on the cross didn`t not pass through water baptism but you used a big word SALVATION , which means a lot.
How doe you understand salvation?. The english word "LEAD" must be check out.
Do you think the killing of the lamb was ok without the application of the blood?. Please answer me.

You may not advertise your church on my website. You asked me the following
Why you speak against all moves of God without praying to ask God the source of Power
I am not speaking against ALL moves of God but in this case I AM speaking against YOUR move of God. The website clearly states that your church is seeking the supernatural manifestations that were evident in William Branhams ministry. William Branham was a heretic who denied the trinity, believed in UFO's and claimed that his angel did the healing He claimed to have had more supernatural experiences than all the men in the Bible combined including Jesus himself.
In light of this, you may not advertise your church here.
I really do not understand
I really do not understand why you would find ANYTHING in my statement of faith offensive. I think the sentence is self explanatory. We are not saved by communion or by water baptism but through the shed blood of Jesus and through our acceptance of His shed blood as a sacrifice for our sins. My statement of faith is exactly that - MY statement of faith. I am not asking you to believe anything you do not wish to believe.
Mishel
Dear Mishel, Where was my
Dear Mishel,
Where was my Church seeking the manifestations of William Branham. What you are saying is not true Mishel, you are just trying to shift the topic. William is dead and gone ok? and what you are saying, you even read it some where."DO NOT BEAT ABOUT THE BUSH" Go and check my church statements of faith.Branham case was written in the book God`s generals, which every one knows it.So those info came from God`s Generals book.We don`t look at only the wrong aspect of people but, we see what they did good too.We check the mistakes of the former ministers, so that we can make better Christianity in our generation. Was Apostle Peter satan because that sentence was address to him by Christ?.Please answer me. Peter did a mistakes by ignoring the fact, that he knows Jesus.Even Moses and others. But their mistakes are there for us to learn how to do better.
Try to teach total Gospel to your visitors and not give just half teachings of the Bible by based on preachers personal mistakes.Teach the truth from the Bible and it shall set people free, they shall know the truth when you teach them.Don`t proves yourself to be better because ,I can see also mistake in your website but I know we are human but I just show you one.
Look at your statment of faith, You are ignoring the Water baptism and communion. Please is that the truth you are teaching?.
I asked you the meaning of "SALVATION and the word LEAD" but you refused to beat about the bush again.Since you are speaking against others and putting yourself as mistake indicator, then you must make sure your statement of faith is in order. I wait to see you make changes of your believes, then I can accept your views.
Our Church was born out of NEW TESTAMENT partten of Church. We was trained and brought up from a good organization like Assemblies of God Church,so we speak total teachings of the Gospel.
Whenever you are speaking against others, please make sure your home work is done correct.
GOD KNOWS HIS PEOPLE.
Like I have stated
Like I have stated previously- my statement of faith is MY statement of faith. While you do have a right to disagree you do not have the right to ask me to change it. My time is valuable and there are many online dictionaries that will provide you with an thorough explaination of the words "lead" and "salvation". I have presented information on this site and forcing you to believe it is not my objective. I am not interested in arguing with you - you have a full right to believe what you want to.
The link that you provided ( which I removed) CLEARLY stated that your church was seeking manifestations such as were evidenced in the ministry of William Branham. You can post a thousand posts and I STILL will not let you advertise your church here. Period.
Now I respectfully ask you to stop posting unless you are specifically respondig to the articles at hand. I have left your post intact but further posts of this nature will be removed. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and consideration.

Life and Death are in the power of the tongue..but before you condemn the writer using scripture you must first determine if you yourself are being decieved into calling this man (Todd) a prophet..because there is scripture for last days deceptions as well...Satan isnt coming with two horns and wearing a red suit. Be careful..avoid being awed by charisma and "signs and wonders"...get God's word in your heart and mind; get to know him fully. Then you should be able to discern whether or not God would tell someone to kick an old lady in the face...God's power tocuhed down on earth in the book of Acts because the disciples were in fellowship, communion, in the word, and in prayer...not in beating up old ladies.

Be careful..for things are not always as they seem..i am not neccessarily calling Todd a false phrophet but before you jump on the bandwagon...do the proper due diligence and test the Spirits..do not take what Christ said for granted, there will be attempts at deception out there and it will not be as easy to recognize as you may think

Again i ask..you're kidding right?

Uhhh....let see...if I were to walk up to Todd Bentley and punch him in the face because I heard a voice (whom I thought was from God) told me to go up and punch Todd Bentley? Would he believe me? I probably would be arrested for assault.
If you ask me, the guy is just taking the mickey out on gullible people who will put money in his coffers. If this is the move of God, people laughing at someone getting punched, dropped and slapped just to be healed????Then I don't want any of it...thank you.
Hi all, I am writing from the
Hi all,
I am writing from the UK. Have been watching the debate about Lakeland for a week or two now and I am deeply sceptical of it, to put it mildly (of Lakeland, that is, not the debate!). However, one thing does disturb me about this video and as a result I give Todd B the benefit of the doubt in the case of this single video alone, because it appears to me that the video has been selectively edited. It is severely disjointed, and I can't help wondering why someone might have done that. Look at it carefully and you will see what I mean. At one point- it might be the bit where he begins "and I saw him" there seems to be no relationship between this sentence and the one that went before it. There is definitely something not right about it and as a result I don't think it is reliable evidence,
Michael
Michael: Welcome.....Yes it
Michael: Welcome.....Yes it appears as if they just took clips from his sermon - I think they did this to edit out extra material as they were just trying to show the parts where he was talking about violence.
Since they are his words there is no adequate explaination in my minds. As well, I have heard the straight audio from this which was not edited. If i can find it again I will post it. I do understand your point but I did the same thing with the video Angels Angels Anglels ( available under the video section). I heavily edited that and put the clips back to back where he was talking about angels for a reason. I wanted to show how many times in one "sermon" he talked about angels. I think the person who did this video was essentially doing the same thing.
Mishel
My pastor is "for" Todd
My pastor is "for" Todd because of all of the miracles he has seen after watching him for over a month now. Miracles come by preaching the word of God and the Holy Ghost confirms the word with signs and miracles. Those ministering must be joined to Christ and the purpose of the miracles is to manifest and glorify Jesus Christ Himself. Miraculous power comes from faith activated by compassion. Faith works through love. Jesus was moved with compassion and healed the sick.
I would not allow any "minister" lay hands on me who was wearing a pentagram, star of solomon, peace sign or any other occultic jewelry around his neck. I would not let this guy touch me. His tattoos alone invoke demons in my opinion. Lucifer can appear as an angel of light (revelation or manifestation).
I have read of a couple of well known false prophets who died violently. Jesus said that there would be many who said Lord, we cast out demons, healed the sick, and did miracles in your name. He said he would tell them, "Depart from Me I never knew you".
I plead the Blood of Christ over these meetings and pray that the Blood of Christ cleanse these meetings of all unrighteousness through the power of the real Holy Ghost.
Thanks, Mishel. I expect
Thanks, Mishel. I expect that you are right. I know that stuff can be edited very cleverly to leave out context, but there is enough material in what is left to leave one feeling very dubious about Todd B and his methods.
This is a good site, by the way. I came across it purely by accident, but it's great to find it.
I read the article about Sundar Singh. I hope you don't think I'm being argumentative if I say that this is another area where I give a little bit of the benefit of the doubt. I know Sundar Singh's writing quite well as a result of my research in another area and you cannot really understand him fully unless you understand the context in which he was preaching. The Indian Christian and Anglo-Indian theological scene of the time was in a state of flux, with many evangelicals struggling with the whole Christ/Culture debate. Singh's stuff fits right into that and he is one among many evangelicals, some very prominent evangelicals, of the period who were trying to make sense of what it meant to be both Indian and Christian. It was a difficult time for them and some did often slip a bit too much to one side or the other, but they were pioneers in their time and made mistakes. So, I would not be too hard on Singh in most areas. Now, I agree fully that the Swedenborgian stuff is beyond the pale, but I equally wouldn't be too hard on Bentley and others for not knowing about that. As the wikipedia article says, it is absent from the evangelical literature and well hidden (as were a few other evangelical 'meanderings' into the paranormal back in that period, believe me!!). It's a familiar area to me because I've just completed a PhD in twentieth-century mission theology, particularly within Indian Christian theology, and I came across Singh's work a number of time, but I never realsied, until you highlighted the wiki page, that he was into Swedenborg. I should have, because I have read most of Eric Sharpe's excellent books and revere Sharpe deeply, but even I did not know about this aspect of Singh. So, if I didn't, and I have been studying the period at PhD level for six years, I'd be amazed if Bentley et alia did. Having said all of that, I still think that this 'revival' is a strange animal and I wouldn't go within a million miles of it.
Hope you don't think I'm being argumentative for the sake of it.
Thanks for a great site,
Michael
Michael: No! I do not think
Michael: No! I do not think you are being argumentative at all! I invite intelligent discussion and certainly do not feel that one needs to necessarily believe everything I write. I understand your point regarding Sundar Singh. Certainly some of these things are well hidden and thus it is possible that Todd does not know. However many of Sundar's teachings line up perfectly with those of the New Age as does most of what Bentley teaches. I would be most curious to know your reaction to the article "The outpouring of New Age Doctrine in the Church". Whether good or bad I welcome your comments!Mishel
Just a few comments to add.
Just a few comments to add. We are in a complex time. If you look (as an example) at the Welsh revival of 1904-05, the result was holiness, deep repentance, fear of God and the churches were packed with people hungering for authentic Christianity. To me, that is true revival. We ARE to judge by the fruit. Please, don't forget that in the last days, the enemy himself is going to manifest "lying" signs and wonders. Also remember when Jesus said in Mt. 7:22, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell then plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' " That's pretty heavy-duty! I am a Spirit-filled, Blood-bought child of the Living God. But it says that even in the last days (if possible) the very elect could be deceived. Look at the temptations of our Jesus in the wilderness ... each one of satan's temptations were valid, but full of hype and flash and would have been out of God's will for HIS plan and timing. You also can see the rewards that our Savior received by resisting these three sensational temptations: Rev.5:12 "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive POWER and WEALTH and WISDOM and STRENGTH and HONOR and GLORY and PRAISE! I count SEVEN ... that's what our Savior received when He resisted the three.

I read the article. I found it very interesting. I think that theoretically, you could be right. Christology is my other area of research and the article interested me from that point of view. The whole movement to immanence really began with the Logos theology and Logos Christology of the time of Clement of Alexandria and Justin Martyr. It experienced a revival in the mid nineteenth century, even harnessing evolution as a sign of the immanence of God in the world. Immanence and evolution both worked as twin concepts. working together to produce a synthesis which resulted to some degree in the type of Christ-consciousness thinking you mention. So, that is why I say you are theoretically, I think, correct. Whether, however, you are adding two and two together and making five, I don't know, but I admit to not being the best judge of such things. I've spent too much time in academia and too little time at the church face to really know quite what is going on at the mo. However, I do think the article captures the flavour of the spirit of the age, as it were, based on the research I have done and it really interests me that you have seen this too, as I rarely get a chance to discuss such matters. I know all that probably sounds very confusing, but when I have more time, I will try to be more clear about what I mean. In the meantime, it is great to find this site and to be able to explore these issues.

Hi, Here's a question I have.
Hi,
Here's a question I have. From what I have read about Todd B and the supposed apparition of the angel called Emma, I have assumed that this was something being curently, or at least very recently, claimed by him. That is certainly the impression given in stuff I have read which has been questioning Todd B. However, reading over on http://blog.thewaycf.com/ in the section which contains email correspondence with Pastor Stephen Strader, Pastor Strader claims that the 'Emma event' happened seven years ago. Could anyone clarify?
Michael
Hey Michael- I have
Hey Michael- I have appreciated your insightful comments. Yes that is correct- Emma was "introduced" to Bentley several years ago by Bob Jones. However, although that is when she first entered his life he has continued to talk about her until recently. He has cooled off a bit on his Emma relationship in recent days due to an outcry from the church and has even removed her name from his website (poor Emma). He still left references to her but edited his site to remove her name only. I think Emma is mentioned in my artcle "Todd Bentley and his Financial Angels." Apparently from eye witnesses, in the early days of the "revival" Bentley talked about her openly as he did his other "angels". In fact on one Saturday from what I understand he invited people to come on stage so the angel could enter them. Mishel
I dont care if he worships
I dont care if he worships angels as long as he can heal me. He has a special power in his hands and they turn electric and it burns cancer out of people. can you do that
Hi Anonymous, In some way I
Hi Anonymous,
In some way I can understand your point.
It is wonderful to be healed.
The thing is, I do not believe that this man
has the spirit of the Living God, Who is The Healer.
So I do not know from which source this healing comes from.
If satan is involved here, which is what I think,
people might be healed, but in the same time
fed up with spiritual problems, which may probably
occur. Such as depression, hopelessness, not wanting
to read Gods Word or pray etc. It is driving them away
from Jesus Christ.
So be very careful!
Indeed, Why would it profit
Indeed,
Why would it profit someone to gain the world but lose their soul?
I'm always very sceptical
I'm always very sceptical about describing manifestations or events in situations like Lakeland as 'demonic'. It seems to me that this is too simplistic, and to be honest, too easy. It is too easy to literally 'demonise' something because we don't understand it or agree with it. In my experience, and I've been around the block a few times, the psychological explanation is usually much nearer the mark- so what we see is mass delusion, hysteria, downright lies, hype, fraud etc. Many of the folks involved are usually good people who have been caught up in delusion. I've been there myself, so I know what it is like- but demonic? I have doubts that demons are at work on anything like a large scale. I'm willing to admit that there will always be an element of the demonic attached to some people, but I generally tend to go for the psychological explanation.
You could say that demons take advantage of these situations and I tend to think that could be true, but human beings are very easily manipulated. I just watched a program which I've seen before by Derren Brown, The British mind illusionist. The guy is at pains to admit that he is not using any magic means at all, but purely psychological tricks. What happens in his shows is astounding, as he plants ideas into peoples' minds using images and words through the show so that at the end he achieves the desired outcome in terms of people turing to the page he has programmed them through the show to turn to, or choosing a certain word or doing a certain thing. To me, these 'revival' events make much more use of such psychological devices than any demonic powers. Willing, as always, to be corrected on this,
Michael.
bible is antiquated
bible is antiquated garbage.
quoting it's verses is an exercise in futility.
2000 years later what has religion bestowed upon us?
regression and lack of progress (dark ages)
death and persecution (crusades, inquisition)
and an army of modern day morons( neo-conservatives)
like any old device which no longer serves a purpose (spinning jenny, steam engine) religion has served it's term.
christianity belongs in the dustbin of antiquity.
i would say history but any one who does a little research would see jesus as a historical figure never existed. So the dustbin of history is not for him. Sorry cult members.
christianity is a cruel joke. And the world is no longer laughing.
I can understand why you
I can understand why you think that. I really can. And, of course, it is certainly not a position unique to you. It is something you need to work through and make up your own mind on.
But on the evidence for the historical Jesus, you are wrong there. There are numerous excellent books on the market which deal with this issue. Josh McDowell's 'Evidence that demands a verdict' is old but good and will get you started. Anything by the English Bishop NT Wright is excellent on the historical side. The history of the early church is absolutely fascinating and you will see how the historical figure of Jesus fits in there. All the best in your searching and musings. After all, If you were not seraching for some answers, you wouldn't be posting on here, would you?
Well gosh man..tell us how
Well gosh man..tell us how you really feel ( grin) You are most certainly welcome to your opinions however claiming that Jesus never existed is just about the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. I dont know what "research" you have done but even other texts and historians that lived concurrently with Jesus confirm His existance. Even people in the occult and new agers do not doubt the existance of Jesus! You are most welcome to post here as long as you not get too far into hate speech and keep you language clean ( which you have). However, I would ask that if you truley wish to discuss this further that you take it to the foum and make a thread. The purpose for this comment section is to comment on the article. I would ask that any one responding to this comment would likewise take it to the forum. Thanks guys.
Mishel
If you think that the Bible
If you think that the Bible is antiquated and that Christianity is a cruel joke YOU ARE RIGHT!
The Bible is very very old, and it was written by many very different old white men that lived a very long time ago, WHO WERE INSPIRED BY GOD. If you had some spiritual understanding you would not even doubt the coherence and validity of the Bible. Since you are clearly an unbeliever your position on it is totally rational and acceptable.
Christianity IS a cruel joke. Since the believers allowed themselves to become incorporated into governmental and religious structures a gross and twisted synergy has taken place which has destroyed the testimony of the believers and has given the world cause to lay many worldy troubles at the feet of the "church". The Church is supposed to supply answers to world problems by living a crucified life and representing Christ as servants and not by allying itself with Caesar.
With that said, don't look at Christianity and think that its problems give you cause to not get into right relationship with God. You need to ask the creator of the universe to reveal Himself to you and enlighten your spirit as you read His word...I recommend the Gospel of John. Or you can continue in your ignorance.
This guy is pathetic and
This guy is pathetic and disturbing!! Since when does the Holy Spirit direct someone to commit physical violence on someone in the name of "healing"? There is NOTHING in God's word ANYWHERE that speaks to this man's methodology, practices, and "revival".
Did Jesus teach anything this...NO! Did the Acts teach on this.......NO!! Did ANY of the epistles teach on this.....NO! Is it edifying to the church or glorifying God....NO!!
The bible says to "test the spirits". Well, this guy fails the test on all points. It's sad that the audience feels that his actions are humorous when in fact his actions amount to assault. We're in the day and age where people are hungry to fill the void in their lives that only Jesus can fill, not someone like Todd Bentley.
People, steer clear of false prophets and satan's henchmen that come across like this guy. He's pure entertainment and money-hungry and is not out to save souls.
Ahhh, son of God, so do you
Ahhh, son of God, so do you reckon Jesus bashed himself up? Or was it evil people who dished out the violence? God hates violence and violent men. He says so Himself. Todd is a violent man and this is what God says about violent men.
Proverbs 3:31-32 Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.
Psalm 11:5 The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence his soul hates.
Genesis 6:13 So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
Psalm 73:1-10
A psalm of Asaph.
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.
For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.
They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills.
Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.
From their callous hearts comes iniquity ; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits.
They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression.
Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.
Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.
The fruits of the Spirit, by which we must test people like Todd Bentley are;
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Notice the words all relate to a quiet, meek, gentle and humble soul. Gentleness is the key word here, not violence.
I also don't get this "blaspheming against the Holy Spirit" bit? You obviously do not know your Scripture very well, and these guys are bargaining on that to make you and others stop questioning them. This is just nonsense and misquoting Scripture. Testing the spirits and judging whether they are from God or not is not blaspheming against the Holy Spirit, God commands us to test the spirits.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
If you read about blaspheming against the Holy Spirit in context you will realise that the people Jesus was warning knew that He was the Son of God and that what He was doing was from God (some even visited Him secretly to ask Him questions about God), yet they were willing, for their selfish ambitions and gain, to deny Him. Even to kill Him. You deny the Holy Spirit when God has opened your eyes to the truth of who Jesus is and then still choose, knowing the truth, to reject Jesus and say He is not the Son of God. No one here is saying that Jesus is not the Son of God, or that He is not God incarnate. The issue here has nothing to do with grieving the Holy Spirit, but with testing Todd's spirit.
Todd might even think he is really doing this in God's name, but God says the following to us and him.
Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
Matthew 24:24. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.
So be careful. Your salvation is the most prescious thing you have and you do not want to risk it by following false teaching and lying prophets.
